The Most Insane Thing At The Geneva Motor Show: The Lazareth LM847, a Maserati V8-powered Quadbike

The Most Insane Thing At The Geneva Motor Show: The Lazareth LM847, a Maserati V8-powered Quadbike

(Photos: Drew Philips/Autoblog) In 2003, Dodge unveiled the Tomahawk: a four-wheeled, Viper powered motorcycle that looked like the light cycle from the movie “Tron”. It was the pinnacle of bad decisions and as a result, was awesome. With a top speed that should have been at least 250 MPH, and potentially higher (depending on which Dodge representative you asked), we highly doubt anybody took the Tomahawk to it’s limits…or anywhere near them. We still don’t understand how Neiman-Marcus sold nine of the damn things…

What you are seeing isn’t the Tomahawk. This is the Lazareth LM847, and is the byproduct of a French company whose signature impression is that of lunatics that love cars. Some of their creations include a Renault TwinGo packing a Rover V8 in the rear and the Wazuma GT, a not-quite-a-trike powered by a Jaguar 4.0L V8. The basic layout is there: four tires, check. Motorcycle-esque layout, check. More power in a motorcycle-esque vehicle than common sense should ever allow? Oh, yeah, check that box too. The LM847’s powerplant is the Maserati 4.7L V8, good for 470 horsepower and 457 ft/lbs of torque, and is connected to the driving wheels via a single-speed hydraulic coupler. By all means, the LM847 can move under it’s own power, but if you want to see that happen, YOU volunteer to ride it. You couldn’t pay me enough to do anything but putt around a parking lot.

A single speed hydraulic coupler….so it’s just a novelty bike.
I’m reminded of the release of the Boss Hoss. When everybody went crazy because it had a small block chevy, but with the two speed tranny, we all found out how slow they really were.
By the way, is that seat and tail section taken from another bike? I swear I’ve seen that exact part before.

Good thing you told me it wasn’t a Tomahawk because it looks exactly like it, just with a less-cool, less-powerful engine.

You would have to be 8 feet tall just to be able to steer it!

Not that you’d live long enough to take the first corner….

I’d ride it but I have severe concerns about it’s handling characteristics so I’d have to do the maxton mile or something.
