What Does It Look Like When Two Grandmothers Take A Lamborghini Murcielago On A Trip To The Shop? It’s Great Fun!

What Does It Look Like When Two Grandmothers Take A Lamborghini Murcielago On A Trip To The Shop? It’s Great Fun!

On one side of my family, my grandmother owned a third-gen Pontiac Trans Am and used it daily, with no qualms whatsoever about opening it up when the mood hit her. Many, many times she’d take the then-empty Powers Boulevard in Colorado Springs and lay into the 305 for all it was worth. On the other side, my stepfather’s mother owned a 1991 Mercury Cougar XR-7 with a set of pipes on it. It was one of those all-white special editions, but thanks to her husband, it barked better than a 5.0 Mustang, and from the only time I ever rode in it before she decided to trade it in on a 1994 Dodge Caravan, I was able to discern that there was more than just exhaust pipes going on under that hood. Just because a woman is up in age doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to cut loose. She didn’t forget how to drive.

But how many grandmothers have ever driven a Lamborghini Murcielago? Not many people have been behind the wheel of one of those, period, let alone the likes of Aubrey and Peggy here. But you’re seeing correctly: they were given the key to this modified Murcielago and let loose to run some errands. The world is their oyster for the day…do they unleash the V-12 on some lonely backroad? Do they just hit the shops and cruise about? You’ll have to watch to find out, but one camera angle we wish we were able to see: the owner’s face as he sweat bullets over his car!

I would totally let my grandma drive anything. My grandpa threw her in his 9.90 dart once. She launched wheels 5 feet in the air, landed right next to the wall, over corrected just a bit, ended up out of the groove at the centerline, this time nailed the correction, ended up dead in the center of the lane, did this all without letting off the gas, and ran one of the cars fastest ET’s.

Great video, my late mother on a trip back from L.A. to the S.F.bay area in March 1966 in her new Toronado saw a sign that said Drag Races, stopped to watch the races (1966 Smokers Race-Bakersfield-the race the Surfers won),bought back t-shirts, signs, etc. to me , her totally jealous 12 yer old car nut son. Her car before the Tornado was a 1963 Impala SS (409-PG). I let her drive anything I ever owned she wanted to, several muscle cars and a couple days before she passed she borrowed my 1965 Chevelle SS L-79, 4-Speed, came back from errands all excited that she blew off some kids in a Mustang (she was 79 years young), one of my favorite memories.
