I was recently turned on to the real estate Deal Of The Day thanks to a post from Charles Wickam on the good old Book ‘O Faces. The hook? For $315,000 you can be the owner of 10 acres of land, a dirt track, a garage, AND a pool! Oh, there’s a good-sized house included in the deal as well, if you’re into that.
As a bit of background information, my wife and I are currently in the market for a new home. She wants a pool and I want a garage. Of course, we never really specified the town or state that our new home had to reside in, so as I read the details listed in the ad I began to mentally write my “Top 10 reasons we need a home in Ararat, VA” Powerpoint (Pro tip: When you’re going to propose something ridiculous to your significant other, always use a PowerPoint). While doing so, I realized that living on/owning a dirt track in Virginia and staying happily married were mutually exclusive deals. The sad thing is, I truly am kicking myself as $315,000 would be a smoking deal for an 1800 square foot home with any amount of land in Massachusetts, let alone 10 acres of land (AND a dirt track!).
So do me a favor, fellow Bangshifters: Someone buy this, now. Because if not I’m going to keep working on that Powerpoint presentation…

So when is the first heat race at the Nutting International Speedway?
Wheels are turning in my head. Let me know how that PowerPoint works out.
Where is this located.?
According to the ad it’s located in Ararat, VA. Looks like the dirt track is named “Rolling Thunder Raceway”.
Mr. Nutting I am the owner of Rolling Thunder the track for sale in Virginia. Please call me personally 276-251-1949
About 12 miles above Mount Airy,N.C.
Is there a NIMBY or zoning problem here?
I’d run this track 7 days a week as a dirt track appeals to everyone that wants to race cars, bikes, snowmobiles, quads, tractor pulls, mud bogs, r/c, swap meets, and driving schools.
How about camping, food vendors, and parking?
OH BOY!
I agree Authorized questions of zoning changes would be a huge issue…but sure is intriguing. Snowmobile races in the winter?
Not enough snow in this part of Va.
