Nostalgia Nationals At US-60 Dragway – Cool Cars and Great Action From The Strip

Nostalgia Nationals At US-60 Dragway – Cool Cars and Great Action From The Strip

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – Finally some ACTION.  This particular gallery isn’t the most-diverse I’ve ever put together.  In fact, you could claim it’s from the Nova Nationals or a Super Chevy Show….with a couple, token other types thrown in.  Still we were a little shocked to see the Yenko Deuce tribute car being flogged on the strip.  We’ve eyed this car the past few years at the Carl Casper Car Show.  Good to know it gets some rubber slung up in the wheel wells.  There’s Megan McConnell running her SBF-powered ‘Foul Play’ Falcon.  It’s her car, but her dad normally steals the limelight so this time we’ll leave him out of it.  The little Dodge rat-ish truck did some awesome rolling burnouts – necessitated by a lack of braking capability.

Some other rides in here:

The black Nova put on quite a show with it leaving wheels-high on every launch.

Can’t get over how cool that yellow, 70s-style ‘Cuda is.

Red front-engine dragster (< is that a pun) was a clean piece and hard runner.

Enjoy the photos.
