If you’re a fan of truck racing but have been lamenting for years how difficult it is to follow big rig series like the European Truck Racing Series, you might just have hit paydirt. The ETRC has kicked their social media game up a notch this year with a bevy of good content on the series’ official YouTube channel that has included extended half-hour highlights from race weekends and lots of discussion with the drivers. However, the series just uploaded all four of last weekend’s races from the Nurburgring in their entirety onto YouTube so you can get your fill of proper big rig racing for free.
Sure, there’s a slight delay, but for a series that has never had any kind of meaningful coverage in the United States, that’s a big step up. And if you’ve never watched brutish diesel trucks leaning on each other at world-class circuits, it’s worth at least a few minutes of your time to watch some of the races where pros treat 10,000-pound race rigs just like lithe little touring cars. The ETRC shared the Nurburgring this weekend with the Blancpain GT Series, which makes an interesting contract with high-tech, big-dollar GT3 machines splitting sessions with the trucks.
