(Photos by Kim Fuller) • Reigning NHRA Top Fuel champion Doug Kalitta secured his third No. 1 qualifier position of the season when his 3.714-second pass at 337.07 mph held up for best of the class at the DENSO NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge.

Kalitta will be looking for his second consecutive win at Sonoma Raceway on race day when he meets #14 qualifier Clay Millican in Round One of Sunday Eliminations, with only fourteen Top Fuelers at the track.

John Force Racing Funny Car driver Jordan Vandergriff earned his second No. 1 qualifier of the ’26 season on Saturday when his 3.849-second pass at 332.43 mph stayed atop the class at the NHRA Sonoma Nationals. Vandergriff will be seeking his second career win on race day, he’ll meet #16 Qualifier Jason Rupert in the first round of Eliminations.

Chris Vang secured his first career No. 1 qualifier on Saturday at Sonoma Raceway when his 6.498-second pass at 209.04 stayed best of the class at the DENSO NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge. Vang made the quickest Pro Stock run of his career and will race Texan Mason McGaha in Round One on Sunday at Sonoma.
Two-time world champion Gaige Herrera won the GETTRX Pro Stock Motorcycle NHRA All-Star Callout on Saturday at Sonoma Raceway when he defeated his Vance & Hines teammate and reigning champ Richard Gadson.

Top Fuel points leader Shawn Langdon won his fourth Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge of the season when he defeated Clay Millican on Saturday at Sonoma Raceway. Ron Capps won his first Funny Car Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge of the season on Saturday in Sonoma when he won over Jack Beckman. Reigning Pro Stock champion Dallas Glenn won his third Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge of season when he defeated Aaron Stanfield.
