Big Fun In A Little Package – Drag Racing Smart Cars At A Historic Strip For A Good Cause (Video)

Many of you out there in BangShiftland are familiar with our pal Kevin Tetz. You have seen him on TV for years and his writing appears in magazines like Car Craft and others. The guy is a really cool dude and he’s as hardcore a car guy as you will ever meet in your life. He’s always horsing around somewhere and this time we find him and his buddy TC at Music City Raceway, a nice little eighth mile track in Tennessee. Was he there racing his Project Zed Sled? No. Maybe the Mustang he build a couple of years ago? Nada. How about that gnarly Ranger truck he did? Wrong again. He’s there to race Smart cars. Heresy you say? Not so fast!

When you are a racer who owns a real estate agency you figure out a way to get your employees in on the fun. As it turns out, this Smart car race was being put on by the Exit real estate company as a team building and fun exercise for their workers. Instead of walking across hot coals and doing trust falls, many people were introduced to the sport of drag racing and they were raising money for charity at the same time.

Kevin and TC take us around the track and through some of the races. We dig Kevin’s approach here because it is not fawning. The funniest moment is after he rides down the track in the passenger seat of a Smart car and looks at the camera only to say, “Well that was underwhelming.” HA!

This is the first in what may become a fun series of its own, so check it out below!

Press play to see Kevin and TC have some tiny eighth mile fun with Smart Cars!
