If you are slowing shaking your head at our simpleton nature, beware that the Hydraulic Press Channel on YouTube has 1.3m subscribers. Hell, we don’t even subscribe to it, we simply pop in every now and again to see what kind of mania those European dudes with the press have whipped up again. They have a good one here because it is a triple threat video with two of the items being a running engine and a watermelon loaded into a racing helmet. The third item is a piston and that’s cool and all but the first two totally kick the piston’s ass.
As we have said in the past the thing we really like about these videos is the fact that the people involved know how totally ridiculous the whole thing is and are laughing right along with us. No one is pretending that any of this makes any sense or isn’t just dumb fun. The engine rules because once they mangle it (while it runs!) they then spin it around and go for the gearbox and frankly that’s even cooler.
The watermelon in the motorcycle helmet takes the cake and may never be topped, though. Seriously it is freaking fantastic.
This is Sunday night “edutainment” for my two boys. Afterwards, they always want to know why these items do what they do when crushed. Hell, sometimes I teach myself a thing or two, as well. How can you not like Hydraulic Press Channel?
