NMRA World Finals Coverage: Action From The Strip and Scenes From The Pits In Bowling Green

(Photos by Bryan McTaggart) –  The NMCA and NMRA had banner seasons in 2016. While the NMCA boys and girls finished up their campaign just before Indy the NMRA crowd had their finals last weekend and it was one of those drag racing weekends that anyone at the event will never forget. From rain to the packed stands, crazy racing, and championship battles the 2016 NMAA World Finals set a standard for anyone who competed in them. The drivers were rock stars and the track staff was exhausted by the time they finished. Because of the rain and other typical drag race stuff, the crew worked until about 2am on Saturday and were right back at it Sunday morning.

We’ll be back with more photos and coverage tomorrow but to get you rolling take a look at Bryan McTaggart’s killer photos from the event right here. He braved the elements, the crowds, and the sea of Fords that packed Beech Bend Raceway for a historically awesome NMRA World Finals to close the 2016 season.

As a guy who spent time in both the NMCA and NMRA seasons this year I can say that there are few bigger success stories in the sport than those two groups in 2016. More cars and crowds than anyone can remember seeing. These photos are from early in the weekend and by then end McTag was wiped!
