If you are a BangShifter you know the name COMP cams. For four decades the company has been on the leading edge of valve train technology, camshaft development, and straight up innovation in the worlds of hot rodding and racing of all types. From their creation of the Spinton machine to their constant ability to evolve the camshaft business for the needs of changing engine technology and platforms, this is a company that has been doing it the right way for 40 years.
When you think about all the names of companies that have come and gone over the last four decades it is mind boggling and through it all COMP has been a steady force in the industry. Their core business has always been camshafts but the company has expanded to other components through RHS, fuel injection with their FAST brand, transmissions with TCI, driveline components with QuickTime, and they continue to explore new opportunities.
One of the more interesting parts of this video is when Ron Coleman talks about having conversations with Scooter Brothers about how they thought in the early days that the business would peter out within 4-5 years. After a couple decades of those conversations, we think they’re going to be around lots longer than the next 4-5 years. Just a hunch but we’re going to play it.
