The gasser purists may not dig this car, but they are no fun anyway. In terms of an awesome “street gasser” this car is so crazy it is nearly over the top. From the four speed and tunnel rammed big block to the painted rear end housing under the back of the car, it was built seemingly right and boy does it make an impression. Outwardly it is about as far away from the “Two Lane” 1955 Chevy which was obviously in grey primer. The wild panel style paint on the outside of this one with all of the detail work in it had to have taken a long, long time to complete and it really sets this car apart from others of the came ilk that we have seen. Also, no straight axle! This car uses ball joint spacers to raise the nose and give it that stance that we all know and love (or hate).
If the devil is in the details with cars like this, the builder here went all out. We’re not sure we have seen a nicer paint job on an axle housing in some tome and when combined with the painted and striped front control arms you can start to get the picture on just how intense and thought out this car was.
The big block and four speed wit 3.36 gears should make this a fun driver. The engine is an aluminum headed 454 with a COMP Thumpr camshaft and a hair of 600 CFM Holley carbs on top of it. The white coated fender well headers look great, the Rocket Racing wheels which mimic the iconic Halibrand spindle mounts look sweet, and the race car lettering is just spot on.
The interior carries the outside paint colors in with white upholstery and green paint on the dash. There are a couple of gauges on the dash in chrome buckets which have an old school feel to them.
This thing seems pretty wicked and it would be fun to hammer it away from stoplights and from the Christmas Tree as well. Who’s in?

It most likely is better to drive, and not stagecoach like, like most solid axle 4×4 oops “gassers” .
The reborn gasser craze is no different than the pro-street 80’s.. looks the part of cool race car but hard to live with as a street car.
This isn’t really a GASSER so the purist should have no issue with it,
THIS IS A 70’S STREET FREAK.. That if you have an unlimited gas card can drive on the power tour and not have back problems after it..

Not sure why you think the gasser purists might not dig this car ??? The gasser purists don\’t dig the fact that folks will pin the term \”Gasser\” on anything with a straight axle (Including 80\’s models) while totally oblivious to the fact that many of the gas class cars from back in the day did not use a straight axle. I would think anyone with the right to be called a gasser purist would welcome this interpretation with open arms. I have to agree this is a street freak – with a gasser vibe – but it sure is cool !!
Too bad they didn\’t sink a few more dollars into the diff… the stock 55 diffs were a serious liability even back in the day with limited traction. MIght be entertaining to watch when they drop the hammer on 600+ ft pounds of torq… might shoot the axles out both sides…
I would have liked the car if it was actually any old gasser from back in the 60’s with that paint job. The paint seems to have taken most of the budget on the car so it would be tough to beat on the thing. If it had a Maaco paint job, then the car would be perfect.
