Racing Junk Find: An Odd “Exhibition” PT Cruiser

Racing Junk Find: An Odd “Exhibition” PT Cruiser

One man’s exhibition vehicle is another man’s horror show. This PT Cruiser, which was apparently built to fill a hole in the “exhibition and arena show” market for burnout machines is being sold at a price of $80,000. Wheelstanders and jet cars have obvious fan appeal. This PT Cruiser? We’ll let you be the judge.

According to the seller, the car has 18-inch slicks, some crazed hudraulic system that lifts the rear of the car 30 inches to clear the slicks at full growth, and an 800hp mid mounted big block. The dude also claims that the car runs in the high 6’s, which better have been at an 1/8-mile strip because 800hp ain’t gonna get you there over the full 1320ft. The photos of this thing are unfortunately small. We’re not actually sure we want to see high-res images, but the train wreck loving side of us certainly does.

At the end of the day, we respect the guy for building something unique and different, but we’re still scratching our heads over just what the hell we’d use it for. Do people really have burnout exhibition cars at “arena shows”?

use it for burnout competitions at car shows, would be real cool with the colored smoke tires that are available, like one red and one blue to see if you could make purple smoke; ROTFLMAO
