Everyone has life goals. Some of them are different than others. People want to make a bunch of money, retired on an island, own 100 cars at a time, or buy a supercar among many others. We’re simpler than that. All we want is to be 74 years old and having as much fun as Joe Tucci is in this video! Tucci has owned this car since 1968 and it has been though a bunch of versions in that time. Right now it has a supercharged 540ci big block Chevy engine in it and he and his pals are still working to get the thing sorted out.
You will see the car make a low 9-second pass but only record a speed of 119mph indicating that Tucci was out of the throttle early and it was simply coasting across the finish line. We dig the looks of this car, especially the fact that it looks to have a 10.5-inch slick under it as opposed to some massive, awkward looking steamroller meats at the rear. The thing looks pretty boss coming off of the starting line as well.
If there is one thing that really tells a story in this video it is the smile on Joe Tucci’s face as the camera peeks into the car while the engine is being warmed up. That’s 74 years of happy right there and hopefully we’ll all be able to experience fun like that!
Does burnouts like he stared racing at age of 73……..
Will, sorry for not pleasing with the burn out. U Window Licker
Simply bad ass, Nick!
Ol’ Will, he’d be pee’n hisself soon as it lit. But I’m sure he’s a great keyboard racer…
This same car was featured in Popular Hot Rodding and one of its annual spinoff mags called “Wild World Of Street Machines” published in 1975. That was one of my very first car magazines, so I immediately recognized the car. Can’t believe the same car and owner are still together.
Steve Yes you are correct
You rock mate. Hope you have many more seasons. From New Zealand.
