We have showed you dozens and dozens of different Brazilian Opala drag cars over the years here at BangShift. From inline six turbo and nitrous cars to naturally aspirated screamers that blistered the drag strip but this one is the baddest ass one yet. Sporting a small block engine, a bunch of nitrous, a clutch pedal and an air shifted manual transmission, this car is freaking awesome. It runs low 7s at nearly 190mph and it really sounds sweet. Like amazingly good. From the crackling idle of the high compression, majorly cammed nitrous engine to the way it sings with its header flames in the dark, you’l dig it.
We’re guessing that the driver loves it too because he’s pretty busy in there. When you see how much actual driving the pilot is doing inside the car you’ll understand why there’s an air shifter button on the steering wheel and he’s not grabbing a shifter. It would be dangerous as hell to battle this little beast with one hand on the wheel.
Brazilian drag racing season is in full swing these days and the weather is beautiful down there this time of the year. Ok, that’s no saying much because at this time in New England it ain’t exactly rosy! Videos like this one keep our blood pumping during the winter.

For a change it’s nice to hear a high comp small block gettin’ it’s neck wrung. Turbo motors don’t have that “crispy” sound.
