With the ability to haul up to 10 people, more car parts than some pickup trucks, and the ability to tow an open trailer with your hot rod on it, or the family RV, this just might be one of the best big wagons Ford every made. It is powered by a 400/C6 combo and has a 9 inch out back as well. It is bulletproof in nearly every way. Sure it needs the front seat redone and a headliner, but that is minor. What matters is third row seating that will hold 4, and folds into the floor, two giant bench seats, and storage even when all the seats are filled. And can you imagine this thing sitting down just right over a set of good wheels? It’s a Ford and it is still making me drool. I love it. So does Matt Cramer from DIY Autotune, which is why he sent it along to us. Thanks for the tip Matt!
You can just see the 1970’s family getting out of this thing wearing corduroy and plaid. Man this is a cooler car now than it ever would have been back then.
The 400 is great, but we have to say that if we had a bit of trouble with it we’d swap it out for a 460 just to hot rod it more. Of course that is the bad call for mileage, but who cares. A Mod Motor would be completely out of place in this thing to us, although one of the truck motors could be cool since they do make some torque. Hmmm. This one has us thinking.

Up for sale is a 1971 ford ltd country squire wagon, it has a 400 cubic inch v8, c6 auto trans, power steering & brakes, power windows, third row seats. Off white exterior and ginger vinyl interior. Comes with a clean Georgia title and tons of paperwork. Was a one owner car in Pennsylvania used only seasonally. Never driven in salt, plus the the underside has had the Ziebart undercoating done. Shipped to California after the first owner died, then back to me, making me the third owner.
This car has 44000 original miles and while it is not a show car it is an extremely good driver. It starts right up and will go wherever you need it to go. In fact I just recently drove it on a camping trip and put about 300 miles on it with no issues.
The car is in good enough condition to enjoy it as is, but if you really wanted it perfect a respray and a redo of the woodgrain would not hurt. Also the front seat needs to be recovered and the headliner could use a repair in a few places.
The car is great and has been a joy to own, and I would not mind owning it from now on. However, I do have other vehicles I need to focus on including another wagon, so I am offering it for sale.
