Is This The Nicest NAPCO Equipped 1957 Chevrolet Suburban On Earth? It’s Gotta Be, Right?

This big fella is a real stunner. I’ve never been accused of going easy on the hyperbole around here but when I raised the question as to whether this is the nicest nicest NAPCO equipped 1957 Chevrolet Suburban on Earth or not, I was serious. This restored truck is perfection in every way.It is way BETTER than it would have been stock, especially in the paint and body department. The quality of that work surpasses what a Chevy plant would have done by about 3,400%…give or take.

Powered by a 283ci small block, backed by a manual transmission, and sitting at flood protection height because of the NAPCO four wheel drive system that’s underneath it, this 1957 Chevy Suburban is a dream truck for many people today. It is priced like it as well. The seller is looking for just under $70,000 and we don’t think you could recreate this truck for that much. Is it actually worth $70,000? That’s dependent as to what someone will actually pay for it.

1957 Suburbans are cool enough to begin with and they’re also not exactly cheap in two wheel drive form so when you get the beefy and ultra rare complete NAPCO system under it, you’re looking at real money. Having known a couple of guys who did restoration jobs involving NAPCO stuff over the last few years, I can tell you that there’s a tiny group of parts left out there for people to find and sell so if you have a period four wheel drive that is complete and functional, you are going to pay for it.

It may be slower, taller, and far less luxurious than a $70,000 SUV today but we’d take this behemoth over modern stuff any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
