(By Greg Rourke) – It’s happened to all of us…you go out in the morning and find a dead battery in your daily driver. What to do? Well, you can pester a neighbor for a jump start. You can drag the battery charger out of the garage. Or…you can fire up your steam powered alternator. Huh?
Here we have a master craftsman who built a steam engine and decided to make it do something useful other than annoy the neighbors with a steam whistle, which it also does. It spins an alternator and charges a battery. His narration style is as exciting as boiled lettuce (No worries Brian, he won’t be stealing any of your announcing gigs) but he gets his points across.
The next time you leave the lights on just wheel this baby out. Load it up with water and wood, wait for it to boil and build up some pressure…..yeah, you’re going to be late for work.
