Halfway To China: This Louisiana Bounty Mud Hole Just Swallows Up The Trucks!

“I can make that, no problem.” Second only to, “Watch this…”, that phrase has seen more after-incident action than I can bear to remember. I don’t know what, exactly, it is about deep mud that incites someone with a lifted truck to go prove that they can, indeed, navigate a water hazard, but sometimes a little foresight is needed…like, “how deep is it?”, or “what is the mud like?” Or maybe, a simple inquiry into just how many rigs have actually, if ever, made it to the end of the run would suffice. You see, pretty much every time someone I know who is off-roading decides to tackle the big bad mud hole, yours truly has wound up digging trenches, jamming logs under tires, and cleaning out distributor caps in the home that somehow, two tons of truck can be extricated without having to bring in a track hoe.

This particular bounty hole is at the Louisiana Mudfest near Colfax, Louisiana. The state as a whole is best known as a swampy location famous for mudding locations. So how ballsy do you have to be to drive right up to what is considered to be the “ultimate” challenge on the property and proceed to wade in like you’re going in for a fight? All we can say is that we hope you brought enough horsepower…you’re gonna need it, sucker.
