(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – Workin’ vehicles or at least they worked at some point in their existence.  Trucks, pickups, vans, wagons and more are in this gallery and one to follow.  Most of these rides have a pretty easy time of it these days and generally only haul people and luggage in various levels of luxury and comfort.  We’ve got a lot of different stuff to bring you in here.

There are chubby Chevys, fat-fendered Fords, Nomads, and even Dodge Sweptlines.  One light-blue Sweptline had a bunch of people gawking at its compound turbo 4BT, three pedals, and subtle touches all over.  The mid-70s multi-color Ford Ranger sporting super-cool slots was definitely a trip back in time for me.  In my hometown it seemed nearly all the guys in FFA/AG had a two-wheel-drive long-bed pickup with some cool wheels and fat tires on the back.

Of course nearly all of them also had the requisite dual exhaust with glass packs to get their perceived horsepower boost.  This ride looked like it rode in right off of Main St. in any small Midwest community in the late 70s or early 80s.  Whether these rides are stock, beat on, hammered, or spruced up all of them are cool in my book.
