It weighs 32,000lbs. It has an engine that measures out at 1,150ci, it has six wheel drive, it has an Allison transmission that could survive a direct nuclear hit, and it has a presence like few things we have ever seen before. Yes, this 6×6 Western Star pulling truck is the greatest vehicle for sale on the internet right now and we found it on RacingJunk.com. Where do you even start with something like this. What’s the thing to highlight first? The big meaty tires? The neat as a pin outward appearance? The polished chrome? Nah, let’s go under the nose and talk about the power plant.

The engine in the truck is a Cummins KTA-1150. The 1150 stands for cubic inch displacement and while this thing was pretty powerful from the factory making about 600hp depending on what trim you had it in, we’re betting that the output is somewhere between twice and three times that (more?) as it has been professionally built by Tom Lindsay. If you are unfamiliar with Lindsay, he’s like an authority on these engines and has been running them in his trucks for years, some with four turbochargers on them. We have read about modified engines of this type making more than 2,000hp and well north of 4,000 lb-ft so the estimate of 1,500hp in the ad seems totally feasible to us.

Under the truck are massive axles that are appropriately strong to handle not only the output of the engine but also the weight of the sled and whatever else you want to pile on. The giant Allison automatic transmission moves the power and a”divorced” transferase (meaning that it is not directly attached to the back of the transmission) moves the power forward to that axle. We have no idea who’s transfer case is being used but we bet you could compare its weight with that of a Volkswagen.

This truck is magnificent for every reason you can think of. The huge power, the beautiful fit and finish, and the absolute heroic stance and look with those tires on it. Holy cow…we’re gonna need a minute.
