It was the richest payday in the history of radial tire drag racing. It was among the most fascinating drag races held in the modern history of the sport. It was faster, quicker, and more aggressively paced than any dedicated radial race I have ever been to and I can tell you it was epic fun. Mark Micke won the deal, as many of you already know and the CompetitionPlusTV video below that those dudes allowed us to embed displays his path to victory.
18 years ago the same car with a much different engine and chassis setup won the Orlando World Street Nationals and today it is the baddest ass radial car on planet Earth and no one can really say otherwise. It was the fastest radial car in history coming into the DuckX Sweet 16 and it leaves as the quickest, fastest, and largest single purse winning car in the genre’s history. Jason Carter and Mark Micke had this thing on nuke from the first step of the throttle and they never lost the plot, even for a second.
This style of racing gets a rap of being outlaw or outside the rules of normal competition but the fact is that these guys are as hardcore and professional as anyone in the sport. Their stuff is awesome, their rigs are awesome, their spare parts are awesome and their payouts? Awesome.
If you did not get the PPV broadcast of the Sweet 16, here’s your chance to see how it all shook out and how the boxy little G-body laid the hammer down on everyone else on the property at South Georgia Motorsports Park and left with a plexiglass briefcase full of $101,000 in $20 bills. Insanity on the best drag racing level. I’ll never forget being at this race.
They\’re fast but not much of a race. The stands look empty. I think 1/8 mile is killing the sport of the race.
Bahahaahah
You do know that is purposely ONLY SOLD 500 tickets at $225.000 a piece right? He sold thousands of pay per view subscriptions.
And not much of a race? Average reaction time in elims was .038 and the margins were tight.
and of course all fans are required to stand at the starting line at this track lol
Oh, hell yeah! Spent the whole weekend there! Best race I’ve ever been to. Gotta say, Donald and Stephanie may have put on the best race in the history of the sport entirely.
