When my father passed on in 2005, I had just completed my first deployment in the Army and had started to make strides towards being a functional, independent human being. I was working on helicopters, I was wrenching in my spare time and hitting the track every chance I could get. His diagnosis of cancer that summer and his passing that October was a shock that took years to get past. To this day I still wonder what he would think of the whole BangShift thing if he were around to see it. I think he’d be on-board and would be the first to tell me to quit swearing while I was working in the shop (which is kind of funny, because I pretty much learned the basics of swearing while he was changing the transmission out of a Ford truck when I was in grade school.)
Jered, the owner/driver of the “Sketchy Vert” 2002 Trans Am had planned on taking Brian Hester on a wild ride at the Ice Cream Cruise later on this year. Brian is battling cancer and Hester, along with his sons, are big fans. When word came that the original plan might not be in the timeline, he did the right thing and decided to just bring the car out to Hester’s house. Kyle from 1320Video tagged along in his “Unicorn” Corvette ZO6 and made a day out of it, fixing son Justin’s fourth-gen Trans Am up a bit and taking some hot rides out in the middle of nowhere, Nebraska.
Good on you guys.
