Unique car haulers are cool, and when we last saw this one the boys from Bad Obsession Motorsport had just finished gutting it and getting it ready to start the renovation process. What had started out as a book mobile or something, and had then been built into a drag racer’s hauler, was not at all what the guys needed. They also need it to lose a bunch of weight. So they started hacking out all the stuff they didn’t need and found that this didn’t get them close enough. Not by a lot. So when we left them last they teased us by telling us that they were about to make this project a lot more complicated. We know them, so this is no surprise. But we love them for it.
We’ve all seen and admired custom haulers at one point or another, but many of them have not just been built on a whim, but rather out of necessity. That necessity could be that you have something so strange or unique that it won’t fit in a standard enclosed trailer or commercially available hauler. Or, it could be that the thought of spending crazy money on a trailer and tow rig has you thinking about other options that might be a bit more friendly to your budget. Usually that means lots of thought, creativity, and sweat equity. Such is the case with Escargo, the hauler that is being built for the all-wheel drive Mini called Project Binky. Considering that the guys from Bad Obsession are building it we know it will be something special and have far more trick stuff in it than anyone would imagine.
