Chad’s tastes in cars and trucks is fairly simple and straightforward: GM, Camaro based for cars, square-body trucks, but anything can be looked at positively. For example, the two-door GMC Yukon that he found is a pretty solid choice…with a touch of the 1990s sport truck flair to it without being too overdone, we can’t blame him. Add to the fact that finding a two-door 1992-98 two-door Blazer/Tahoe or Yukon that clean will be a chore ups the desirability factor. But let’s think about Chad’s garage for a minute…he’s already got a long-roofed people mover (Ethyl, the 1966 Bel Air wagon), and his last adventure with a Tahoe saw him freak out a little because it was too clean. To be real, I don’t think another full-size SUV would fit Chad well. What he needs is a truck…and yes, I know he has a truck in the form of a 3+3 dually, but that beast is going to be a workhorse. Chad would do well with a smaller, quicker shop truck, though, and I think that this 1996 Chevy C1500 Stepside is the perfect fit.
Mostly sport truck, with just the right amount of Pro Street involved, this Stepside would be perfect. What’s not to love with the body or the interior? What’s not to like with the Currie-sourced 9-inch and 3.55 gears? What’s not to like about 29x15s tucked up underneath those meaty hips in the rear? Honestly, the worst part about this truck…and I say that with just a tinge of regret, because honestly it’s not accurate…is the 350-horse Vortec 350 under the hood. It’s not brutal in the least…rather, it makes the Stepside the perfect daily. There’s room for improvement, obviously, but when you have air conditioning, an overdrive automatic and enough grunt to chirp a shift if you’re feeling ballsy one day, do you really want to screw that up?

To be a Chad vehicle or even a Bangshift vehicle it needs to have too much of at least one thing. That truck is too balanced. It needs to be dragging on the ground or ate up with engine or tire, preferably BOTH.
