Lest you think that small tire drag racing is only difficult in the USA we present this video from Brazil to show you that the hard work being done by racers all over the globe looks to be one and the same. You are about to watch this turbocharged, stick shifted, fire spitting car do pretty much everything a car can do over the course of a bunch of runs. You’ll see the open clip where the thing barfs a wheel/tire out from under it, you’ll see it blow fire like a plasma cutter out of the exhaust, you’ll see it make clean runs, it pulls wheelies, and it’s all a great watch.
We’re guessing that the engine combo in this thing is an inline six as that’s most common, especially in the really fast stuff in Brazil. The sequentially shifted transmission is interesting to us because we do not know what kind of box it actually is. The driver of this car is good. He obviously could not have prevented the wheel falling off but the guy does not try to be a hero when the thing pulls the nose up and gets weird. He shifts, he lifts, he does what he needs to do to save the car.
I’m setting a personal goal to get to Brazil in 2020 to take in some of their drag racing. We’ve shown you enough on the internet that I want to see this nuttiness in person!
