The joint-venture revival of a Plymouth Satellite that had been parked since the Regan Administrations’s earliest days continues on! Kevin and Luke are continuing to make headway on the 1970 Plymouth Sport Satellite, a car that ordinarily would’ve been doomed to be a parts donor for a stripped shell on it’s best day. If this is your first time seeing this car, this is a 318/3-on-the-tree car that isn’t anything special. It’s not like the guys found a 440-6 Road Runner and are doing what should be done. This is two guys trying to get a bread-and-butter machine to wake up and show some signs of life.
The last episode saw some hope. Some gas down the ports of the intake manifold got the 318 to cough and bark long enough to claim that the engine (the one that had four stuck valves that freed up with some hammer work) was a potential runner. The last episode also saw a dark side to the Satellite…namely, that two YouTubers who have spent plenty of Internet time wrenching on junk easily get their asses kicked by two bolts and two electrical connectors. Seriously, guys, it’s a Chrysler starter…they aren’t that bad! Or maybe they are, considering how many of them they go through. But that’s just me poking fun at them…they’re the ones about to slap a carburetor onto this car (a 4-barrel unit with a modification plate to work on a 2-barrel intake) and see if a Chrysler 318’s legendary reputation for running under some of the worst conditions possible is well-founded.
You’ll also get to see a bit of “hydration therapy” time at the campfire as the guys retreat to their conversion vans for the night. With any luck, two guys unwinding and having a laugh is all you’ll see!
