(By Tom Lohnes) – The Nissan Frontier: A truck that’s been around for 17 years without a major update has hit a milestone. A man from Texas put a million miles on his 2007 Frontier and Nissan gave him a new one completely for free. Pretty cool, Right?
Don’t get me wrong, I would take any free car or truck but would I choose a Frontier? Probably not. The problem with this trade in is that the two trucks are identical. Most of the time, car companies will replace an old, high-mileage clunker for a new model with a lot of fancy bells and whistles. But there is no new Frontier.
Nissan has this nasty habit of only investing in little sedans and crossovers and not batting an eye at any of their most iconic models that need a refresh. Take the GT-R for instance: 13 years on the market, the 370Z: 12 years on the market, the Frontier, 17 years. That is a long long time, and it needs to change. But anyways the man got his new frontier and he is very grateful, as anyone who is awarded a free truck should be, but maybe next time bump him up to a Titan, would ya?
