(By Tom Lohnes) – Do you have $82,000 to spend on a 6-seat SUV that has over 700 horsepower? If the answer is yes, Dodge has you covered. With a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds and a 11.6-second quarter mile time, here are some other 3-row SUVs that the Durango Hellcat is cheaper and faster than
1:BMW X7 M50i: Now, this is my personal favorite SUV on the market and the Durango Hellcat doesn’t change that. But, with a base price of $102,650, the Durango is about 20 racks cheaper than the BMW and a whole second quicker to 60 and down the quarter. That being said, the Durango does not give you anywhere close to the level of interior quality and overall technology that the Bimmer gives you.
2: AMG GLS63S: This 603-horsepower luxury hauler is a whole hellcat more than the Durango. With a price of $132,000 base, the AMG GLS63S gives you what you pay for. With an advantage over the Durango in seating, this big Mercedes has 7 seats over the Durango’s 6. With that said, the Mercedes is also a little too slow to compensate for it’s price. With a 4.1-second 0-60 time, $135k could and should be spent elsewhere
3: Range Rover SVA: Starting at an eye-watering $179,500, this Range Rover is the slowest, with a 5.1-second 0-60 time, but the most luxurious, packing 6 actual reclining lounge chairs. This big Rover might actually sound the best though, because it has Jaguar’s 5.0-liter Supercharged V8 and a titanium exhaust system. This thing does pack a serious punch.
