As you all well know, I’m a big fan of station wagons. I don’t know exactly when I decided they were cool, but I specifically remember a couple instances growing up where I was around wagons that stuck with me. One was my dad’s friend Alan Pontier’s Nomad. It had a big block, a 4-speed, and was a bad ass machine. The other was a 1972 Chevelle station wagon that my dad and I saw at a Goodguys show in Pleasanton when I was probably 14 or 15 years old. It was for sale, for what seemed like too much money, but the damn thing was so cool I just couldn’t get it out of my head. I own two wagons currently, and have a list of others I’d like to own, and the Buick Sport Wagon and Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser have always been some that I love.
Who doesn’t love the windows in the roof on them? These are special wagons and you don’t see them nearly as often as those from Chevrolet. This one really is a barn find, and although the engine is locked up the rest of the car is ready for enough of a refresh to drive and nothing more. I’d leave the patina, but a big block Buick under the hood, and add a Gearvendors to it for some overdrive action. Make the interior comfy and drive it forever.

Barn find. Does not run. Motor locked title all original very cool wagon keys protector plate sport wagon $3500 call.
I have been wanting a 64 or 65 Sport Wagon for years. It was the car we had when I was born. Has to be the same medium blue color. I would probably forgo the 300 V8 for a 5.3 LS. I know they are cliche, but I would want a simple road trip car. No turbos, maybe a lopey cam. That’s it.
My buddy has a 65 with twin turbo LS in it.
