Halfass Kustoms Shop Fire: Brent And Esther Are Okay, But The Shop Is A Total Loss

Halfass Kustoms Shop Fire: Brent And Esther Are Okay, But The Shop Is A Total Loss

We’ve shared Halfass Kustoms videos with you for the past couple of years here on BANGshift and I truly look forward to watching Brent work in the shop each and every week. He’s inspiring, and unbelievably driven, and he seems like a genuinely nice guy that enjoys time in the shop with his dogs and his wife. He’s the king of good enough, and I say that with nothing but complimentary thoughts, as he encourages people to build cars they are capable of and then to get out and drive them. Don’t work on something for the next 25 years, never to finish it because it isn’t “perfect”, but rather get it done and fun and drive the hell out of it. We love this motto.

But the videos below are not about that. They are about Brent and Esther coming back from a hot rod road trip to the Lone Star Roundup, only to get word along the way that their shop was on fire. With nothing to do but keep heading home, they arrived to find it burned to the ground. The video below is sad, and even though we know he’ll rebuild there is nothing that can be done about some of the memories and parts, and “stuff” that is irreplaceable. But the dogs are okay, nobody was hurt, and he will persevere.

Besides the video showing the damage, we’ve also got a video from another Canadian, our friend Karl Fisher from Make It Kustom. Karl has collaborated with Brent on a project and they are both great guys. Karl is asking for some help for Brent in this video. Check it out.

He also walks us through making a killer shifter for the ramp truck project!

I see you trying to go through the shop and my heart goes out to you. I lost everything in a wildfire. My town was burned and 86 people lost their lives. When I looked at my garage I turned my back on it. My cars were removed for scrap. I am still recovering. God is good and I rebuilt on the same property.
