(Photos by Ryan Severance) – One of the big themes at this year’s 2015 Carlisle All Chrysler Nationals was a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the company’s famed “Forward Look” styling campaign. These were some of the most dramatic and awesome looking cars of the middle to late 1950s and boy did they show up in style at Carlisle. There was a building made up to look like an old Chrysler dealer and the finned machines inside were truly cool. From long ram equipped models to 392 hemi powered bombers, these cars were muscle car before the term came out. Lots of the Mopar faithful point to the 300C as an example of a muscle car long before the actual term entered the popular lexicon. We can kind of buy that.
With there gaping noses and cool, kicked up fins in the rear, these things were ready to take on drag strips, beaches, speedways, and anywhere speed was needed to be successful. The company had good years with these cars and while they did not match Ford and Chevrolet for volume the models were popular and successful. We think you’ll dig these cars as well as some of the other stuff in there like wagons, a Shelby Shadow and lots more.
If you want to get your Mopar on, here’s the place!
