(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – Why do the Corvettes and Camaros get their own gallery…? Two reasons. 1. There were more than enough of both to warrant it. 2. The Green ’70 Camaro day-2 build that requires more than a couple photos. Quit yer complaining and follow along.
For starters check out the gorgeous ’73 Type LT complete with spoiler and vinyl top. Next up is a red C2 roadster sporting a stinger hood scoop and a very potent, fuel-injected big-clock. Nice. Look a bit further down and you’ll see an unrestored ’69 Z/28 with stance and more. Now let’s look at Jeff Mumford’s citrus green rendition of a day-2 Camaro in early 70s styling. This thing is off-the-charts cool with a 630hp, tunnel-ram-equipped big-block and 4.11 gearing. Dubbed the ‘Snot Rocket’ it is loaded with period touches from the large hood scoop revealing twin gold-anodized velocity stacks to the Lakewood traction bars. It’s a brilliant time machine and there shouldn’t be a red-blooded gearhead that wouldn’t want to take it for a spin. We’ll finish off this gallery with this amazingly-beautiful ’71 Stingray in ‘Steel Cities Gray’. The color seems to have a green cast at certain angles and the look is something cameras can only begin to capture. The car is subtle and striking at the same time. Well-done.
Enjoy these and we’ve got a bit more to show you so come back and visit.
