FM3 Road Trip Day 5: Bitchin Scenery and Charlotte Motor Speedway Action!

FM3 Road Trip Day 5: Bitchin Scenery and Charlotte Motor Speedway Action!

(Photos by Cole Reynolds) Yesterday we decided to head out early in the morning with a lot of other drivers so that we would get to Charlotte Motor Speedway right as racing started. The route they had us go on was a very scenic tour through the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina. The Ridetech 48-Hour Camaro handled flawlessly through all of the twists and turns of the mountain roads. The fun didn’t stop there though. After we got onto some normal highway roads, we had a little fun with Jimi Day in his AMX and Bruce Raymond in his Z28 Camaro. The Ridetech 48-Hour Camaro had no problem pulling away from the AMX as if he was tied to a tree. The Z28 on the other hand could hang with us pretty well. These both came back to bite us in our asses though as they were both Donatable Offenses. We weren’t too mad though since they go to a great cause.

We ended up getting to Charlotte Motor Speedway in enough time to unload the car and walk the autocross course designed by Brian Mason a couple of times. The course was bumpy in a few spots but overall had a good layout that everyone enjoyed. As the day continued, the times continuously dropped and everyone started to have more and more fun. Cole and I were Co-Racing the Camaro and also got to each drive John Martin’s badass Squarebody C10 . Cole’s lap consisted of doing a burnout around the first two turns then into spinning out into a giant cloud of smoke. We both had a blast. The action didn’t stop there though. Check out our first batch of Day 4 photos!

Too bad you couldn’t make it to the Good Guys Nationals in Raleigh. Would like to have seen all those cars on the auto-x.
