(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – We happen by Filmore’s Dairy Hut on Sunday events while coming home from events such as Gravelrama, the Ohio Mile, Lawrenceburg Speedway, or Edgewater Dragway. Ray Dowers is the DJ (Cruizin with DJ Ray sponsored by Haag Ford) and the event draw an eclectic mix of machinery. We’ve brought you some of this stuff in the past and as long as there are new and interesting things showing up there we’ll keep doing the same. It’s no secret that I drive and own GM stuff and most of that is Chevy. This doesn’t mean I don’t like other stuff. In this gallery there several photos of a ’38 Ford Tudor showing it well-before it was completed and a few once it was finished. The flattie in this thing sounds like few others and has a lope some race cars would envy. The whole thing is done quite well and we had to try hard to keep our drool off of it.
I’ve had black cars. I now have a black car covered in black primer because of it. I believe the people who have super-nice black cars are gluten for punishment, but are courageous for keeping up the fight. I gave up. The Plymouth Road Runner in here was sleek, straight, simple, and awesome. The stance, style, and sound all pegged the cool meter. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention another heavy-hitter in this collection – the SOHC-powered Starliner. You just don’t see much SOHC-powered anything and this was a winning example of something Ford should have built and sold. The look of this car is timeless and a super-clean ride. That’s got to be some fun taking out for a spin.
Enjoy the photos.

Am I seeing an exhaust design that clears debris away from the wheels in an effort to improve traction? That’s what it looks like. If that’s what it is, what an original, well thought out design! Love that car too! Big, Black, and BEAUTIFUL!!!
