(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – These small town events like this are great. The setting is usually very photogenic (which matters to me) and the atmosphere relaxed. No one is in a hurry. I’m always looking for a shot that highlights the local architecture to accentuate the cars. Power lines and such aside, this is one of the best venues for this. It does work out better when the sun isn’t glaring during one of the hottest days we’d had all year.
The blown, purple Luv is something I don’t think we’ve seen before. Parked conspicuously on a street corner it was begging for us to take a closer look. We never got to hear it run, but the thing is definitely well put together. We really enjoyed seeing the late 70s/early 80s 2dr Pontiac Bonneville we saw on Main St. Complete with a vinyl top and velour seats this thing reminded me of the GP my mom had back then. The Bonnie looked fresh and was definitely an attention-getter.
Enjoy.
