FIRE! A Collection Of Our Best California Hot Rod Reunion Cacklefest Photos!

FIRE! A Collection Of Our Best California Hot Rod Reunion Cacklefest Photos!

ONE DAY! That’s right, we are one day away from our live broadcast of all the racing action at the 2013 NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion in Bakersfield, California. Famoso Raceway will be bursting at the seams as we follow every car, in every class, on every pass, down the famed quarter mile at Famoso Raceway. On Saturday night we’ll be following many of the cars up the track as they are push started by an array of vintage cars and trucks in front of the massive crowds that are sure to be jam packing the place tight.

Is the Cacklefest racing? No. Is it the greatest, most honest, most emotional, and most tactile way that we can remember the storied past of drag racing? Hell yes it is and we’re proud to be the first people who ever lived streamed one so many years ago and we’ll be right there for this one as well. We published a list of known entries the other day which you can see by CLICKING HERE. There are more than 80 cars that will be participating. Some are static start and others are push start cars. We love them all because for the minutes that they are running, nothing else in the world matters all that much. The fumes are so thick you can chew them, and the place is standing room only.

As you’d expect, the Cacklefest makes for some incredibly compelling photography and since we have been attending them for years, we have some good stuff to share with you. This is a link all about cackle cars, header flames, glowing zoomie pipes, and trying to sense the magnitude of 80 nitro burning machines running at the same time pretty much rules all. Don’t believe us? Check out this photo gallery!

These are nice photos but in the past you’ve had some great video from both the Famosa and Beech Bend cacklefests. The sound and motion had a dimension not found in still photos.
