Goodguys Bowling Green 2015: The Most BangShifty Cars and Trucks We Could Find!

Goodguys Bowling Green 2015: The Most BangShifty Cars and Trucks We Could Find!

(Photos by Bryan McTaggart) – One of the reasons that we spend so much time at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky is that the place is constantly hosting big and cool events. From the National Hot Rod Reunion, to LS Fest, to last weekend’s huge Goodguys event, the place is constantly rocking and we can understand why. The picturesque surroundings, nostalgic feel, and local area all add up to a trifecta of fun for car people. Companies like Holley do a great job supporting the place and the Jones family operates the place as a family business.

In typical Beech Bend and Goodguys fashion, this event was multi-faceted and fun. The show was huge and the drag racing was fun. McTaggart cruised the show and blasted photos of just the stuff that caught his eye and struck him as being BangShifty and cool. No boring stuff here! The mid-engined Pacer, the Scout, the Rambler, the I6 Flatrod, and the yellow Corvair with go-faster stripes are all cars I’d love to be able to look at up close.

The Corvair is the only one I can help you out on. Its powered by a built 455 Buick and is one seriously nice piece. I shot several photos of it 3-4 years ago at the Street Rod Nationals. Some of those are in at least one gallery on here.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll do some searching.
A Corvair with a big-bore BOP block is a really cool combination.

Hmmm….when you click one of the thumbnails it should open the photos up in a larger viewer and you should be able to scroll through them with your arrow keys as quickly or slowly as you’d like.

      None of that is happening?

I have had an issue with thumbnails for awhile now. When I click on them it is maybe a 1/4 thick with only the close button. I always just thought it was me.
