(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – This is our second year attending the Hullabaloo in Lexington, Kentucky. The event is free and funds raised go to support Shelby’s Way – a non-profit to bring awareness to suicide prevention and to help folks in need around the community. This year the raffle items was a slick, rolling ’32 Ford chassis. Several other items are donated to help out as well. The event is billed for traditional hotrods, but anything is allowed to come in. Mark Cain and his wife head things up and are big proponents of community and bringing people together. We had invited several first timers to come and of those that made it they all said ‘best event I’ve been to in a long time’. There’s live music, food, plenty of eye candy, and good fellowship.
This year we got there early so we could capture stuff rolling in….which we did, but that is not this gallery. I’ve grouped some of the photos we took a little differently just to see how things work out. I’ll ask the boss which of the articles had the most views, shares, etc when it’s all done to determine if one format works better than others. This group contains mostly 40s to 60s era big cars with a couple newer things thrown in for spice. I think out of all of them I dug the burple Rivi the most and that was a chance encounter as we were walking back from the convenience store on the corner.
Enjoy.
