(Words and photos by Mike Brooks) – As we all know, the indoor cars how season is well underway. While patiently waiting for the snow to melt away here in the northeast, I decided to take another mini road trip to Canton, Ohio for the 15th annual Canton Hot Rod & Custom Bike Show. It was held at the Canton Memorial Civic Center not far away from the pro football hall of fame. It was the biggest show they’ve ever had with cars bikes and trucks tucked in almost every nook and cranny of the main building as well as more custom cars displayed at the building next door. The shows biggest sponsor, Summit Racing was on hand with Jason Line’s ’13 NHRA pro stock Camaro. The Summit staff was also handing out discount vouchers for their large by huge retail store in nearby Tallmage, OH so naturally we had to stop by and pick up some parts and goodies (from bangshift sponsors, of course) before heading back to NY.
(Editor’s note: The setting for this show is pretty awesome if you have any appreciation for the history of where winter car shows have been held for decades across the country. Small arenas have been a mainstay for these events, often replaced with less cool convention centers in many places. The fact that this show was in a small, old school arena is really cool and adds to the atmosphere that Dave’s photos highlight.)
