The Suede Palace: The Cool Kids, Traditional, Corner Of The Grand National Roadster Show

If the measure of being cool is that other folks want to be cool like you, then Axel’s Suede Palace at the Grand National Roadster Show is where the cool kids hang out. And don’t for a second think that hipsters can walk in and be part of the cool kids. They’ll see right through that, but if you are genuinely interested in cool traditionals, customs, and unrestored hot rods, this is the place to be. Everything from unrestored racecars to over the top customs are on hand, and the vibe is straight out of the 50’s but with a little more ink. It’s a must stop area at the Grand National Roadster Show, and we look forward to it every year. The list is LOOONNNNGGGG to get your car in, but that doesn’t stop the crowd from growing each and every year. Here are some great photos shot by Scott Liggett and Bob Chiluk that will make you want to build one of these hot rods, even if you are normally a muscle car guy. It’s that good.
