Here’s out latest collection of photos from Viva Las Vegas 2016. In this group of photos we have everything from a sweet gasser truck to some awesome old Lincolns. The gasser truck thing is one of the cool recent emerges in the hot rodding world. We’re talking about the straight axle, fender all header equipped, 1950s/1960s themed gasser pickup. Now, outside of the Willys trucks that were seen in the class there was not really any other type of gasser truck back in the day but we love these “things that never were”. Yes, Dick Boynton and a couple of others had drag FX trucks back in the day but the purists wouldn’t recognize these rigs.
The fact is that trucks were never seen as “muscle” vehicles until way later in the hot rodding realm. The awesome “shop trucks” that many hot rod shops and garages had were one thing but they were far less drag and far more about being low or cool or even sleeperish than they were for hitting the quarter mile.
