(Photos by Darr Hawthorne) Here’s our second gallery of photos from the Grand National Roadster Show Suede Palace, as promised, and if you missed the first one there is a link below for that as well! An estimated two thousand invited hot rods and weekend drive-ins made their runs to the Pomona Fairplex over the weekend for what has become the premier hot rod and custom show on the West Coast attracting an estimated 25,000 spectators over three days.
Spread over the massive Fairplex parking lots and seven WW2 Era buildings, the Grand National Roadster Show is huge and the Suede Palace was, at one time, a single gallery building devoted to Rat Rods, but now has evolved a building to house more traditional hot rod and custom builds. You won’t find the big-buck builds, but the labors of love and throwbacks to 50’s and 60’s classic hot rodding.
