Gravelrama 48: Our Coverage Of Ohio’s Off-Road Jamboree Begins Now With The Show Field!

Gravelrama 48: Our Coverage Of Ohio’s Off-Road Jamboree Begins Now With The Show Field!

For the last couple of years I’ve known that there is a strong off-road presence near BangShift Mid-West. If you were to draw a circle that at it’s furthest, would represent a six-hour drive, you’d find mud bogs, rock crawling, trail rides, sand drags, mega trucks, and so much more that I don’t even fully understand. But there was one show that I can honestly say that I’m embarrassed to have not thought about sooner: Gravelrama 48. That’s how many years the big throwdown in Southern Ohio has been going on and it’s a show that I’ve wanted to see for years…as in, from grade school years. I’ll explain more on that when I get to the main feature of the Gravelrama experience, but for now, we’re going to start off the coverage by checking out the show field and seeing the sights around the campground.

Gravelrama is run by the IOK (Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky) Four Wheelers and are based out of Cleves, Ohio, where Gravelrama itself is located. They are heavy into the Jeep community, but pretty much anyone who loves to get down in the dirt is welcome to come out and play. The IOK grounds host a sand drag pit, an obstacle course, an uphill drag setup and, of course, the infamous hill that has enamored your author since childhood. There’s lots to like here, and there will be more coverage throughout the week. But for now, click on a photo below to check out some of what was hanging around the grounds!

Cleves is my home town. Gravelrama is a really big event, and a good time, for people of all ages. These are not zip waxed garage queens, and clean wheels are a sign of weakness. The IOK club goes back approx. 60 years. I remember when they purchased the property, and knew many of the guys that put it together. I have many stories about the gravel pits around here. Hope to see you at Gravelrama!

I am so glad someone finally wrote something about these kids our there racing their hearts out! Racing is in their blood and these kids will be our next generation of racers! I would put our kids up against any adult cutting them lights and running close to their dials.
