(Photos by Bryan McTaggart) – As you can tell, we have been following a pattern with our Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion photos since the start of our coverage. We have been working our way through the show cars and working our way toward the drag strip where all the action happens. In this collection of photos from our own Bryan McTaggart we have lots of competitors loaded up in the staging lanes and preparing to give it a rip down the famed course at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
The neat thing about this race is that each year we’ll see cars we have never seen before and those cars will have traveled from parts of the country far and wide. This is a destination type track and race for people and that is what makes it special. When you have competitors willing to hitch up their trailer and drag their stuff for dozens of hours to compete, you know that you have a successful legacy race and that is exactly what the museum has.
This Chevelle below is awesome. The big wagon seems to normally run NHRA O/stock which means it is likely a 283 four speed car! We’ll have to attack McTaggart for any info he has on this big black barge but no matter what we says, we’re in love! This is but one of dozens of cool cars featured in this collection of photos.
