The skies may have been on the gray side but that did not deter thousands of gearheads from across New England from gathering at the Bass Pro Shops location in Foxboro, Massachusetts for the bi-monthly cruise night that packs thousands of cool cars into one place. We saw everything from late model Lamborghinis to a beautiful 1969 Hemi Road Runner that was so factory fresh it even had a Chrysler decorative wheel cover on it as would have been displayed at the dealer! There are a great number of people that participate to keep this thing going and thankfully the majority of the show goers are respectful and don’t make trouble for the local police or the people that own the property the cruise is held on. Yes, there are some people who may get on the pedal a little leaving but we did not see anyone doing anything harmful in the couple of hours that we were there.
Events like this are perfect for guys like me and my kids because we love all this different stuff. The Mustang that looked like it was from the movie Bullit got our attention just as hard as the restored wrecker, the Ferrari, and the vintage Volvo. It is a great melting pot of automotive culture at cruises like this and a solid reminder that we are all in this hobby together even if we don’t share the exact same interests we, at base, have the same passion.
