NMRA All-Ford World Finals 2017: Our First Look Into The Blue Oval World At Beech Bend

NMRA All-Ford World Finals 2017: Our First Look Into The Blue Oval World At Beech Bend

The GM fans had their fun at Beech Bend recently, now it’s the Ford contingent’s turn! The NMRA All-Ford World Finals is at Beech Bend, and if you have any sort of inkling for anything from Dearborn, you need to be there. Between the car show, the racing, the vendor’s row and the swap meet action, there is plenty to see and do on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, I won’t be there this weekend…I’ll be driving to Coffeyville for the Coffeyville Street Drags, but since Thursday was the first official day, when racers started to show up to make test hits, I went out anyways. When I say I was early, I mean early…I was wondering if it was even an official day of the World Finals! But the cars came in, the vendors parked and started setting up, and after prep was completed, cars came out and hit the strip.

The cool thing about this year’s event is that they are holding grudge racing after the official race hours are over. Basically, once the official work is done and if your car isn’t in one of the restricted classes, you can go call out whoever you want, place money on it, whatever. As long as it’s Ford-powered, it’s fair game. And trust me…from what’s already out there, there is some solid potential. We know of one car in particular that is within a tenth of getting kicked off of the property that is still on it’s stock wheels, with only drag radials on the back, taking aim at that group!
