Our Final Gallery From The Invasion Car Show On The Streets Of Deep Ellum Texas: Hot Rods, Customs, And More Packed The Streets!

We were on site in Dallas this weekend for the Deep Ellum Invasion Car Show and had a really good time. It’s not a huge show, but because of the fact that they take over two streets in Deep Ellum for nearly the entire day, it sure is something special. I got a bunch of photos as Dad and I walked around, so check them out below, along with a link in case you missed any of our previous galleries.

The Invasion Car Show, in Deep Ellum Texas, is a cool 1964 and earlier only car show that features mostly traditional style hot rods, customs, and cruisers. This show has been going on for 16 years this year and is something special because of the location, setup, and more. First off, Deep Ellum is an area near downtown Dallas that is full of restaurants, bars, and shops and that has been a hot spot in Dallas for over 150 years. It is one of Dallas’ nightlife hubs and is also busy every Saturday and Sunday with folks eating, drinking, bar hopping, and shopping.

Having a car show right in the middle of Deep Ellum is a pretty cool thing, and the THEM! Car Club is who puts it on. After 16 years, you’d hope they would have this thing down, and boy do they. They shut down Elm Street at the crack of dawn, and then open it for hot rods at 10am. The car show fills over the next hour or two and then they close the gates and start judging at 1pm. At 3pm is the Miss Invasion Pin Up Contest at Trees which is one of the more iconic music spots in Deep Ellum. The awards go down at 4:30, and then the Invasion Car Show After Party at Trees starts at 6pm. If you want to, this is an all day and into the night affair!

Dad and I showed up at about 11 and walked around for a while before grabbing some lunch. There were a few hundred cars on the streets of Deep Ellum, including traditional hot rods, customs, trucks and more. It’s a fun show, it’s cool to have the streets of Deep Ellum blocked off for cool cars, and dad and I had fun just walking around and checking out the action.

Below is the first of five galleries of photos that I shot from the show, so check out this first one and let us know what your favorites are.
