Performance Racing Industry Show 2017: On The Floor On A Friday Afternoon

For many who don’t know what the PRI show is, their take on the concept seems to be, “Oh, it’s like SEMA, just smaller and out East, right?” No. Not in the slightest. Ok, yeah, it’s out in Indiana and yes, it’s significantly smaller than the footprint that SEMA covers. To be fair, so are a lot of regional airports. But the difference between SEMA and PRI is this: at SEMA, even though it’s an automotive aftermarket trade show, we tend to get caught up in the display cars and the overall “show” aspect of what is going on. At PRI, you waste time walking up and down the aisles making up a shopping list of what you’d want to build your next project out of. There’s engine blocks, heads and camshafts actually being made in the machining tools sections…walk over and you can’t mistake the smell of freshly milled metal and lubricating oil for anything else. There is everything you could dream of for brakes, intakes, fuel systems, hoses, hardware, suspension parts…by the time you have covered PRI, you’ve got three builds in your head and at least fifty companies you plan on patronizing for parts and services. That’s why we love PRI so much…it gives us great ideas! Check out some more photos from the floor and see just what we mean…from parts for engines to the trick racing sim setup that was providing a shockingly realistic dirt-track drive sensation, it was all here!
