(Photos by Wes Allison) When my friends in SoCal were posting photos of their cars, trucks, and trailers ready to roll to the Pomona Swap Meet yesterday I have to admit I was jealous. Since moving from Upland California back to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the Pomona Swap Meet is one of the things I do miss. While I wasn’t always able to go, due to race schedules, etc, the one thing that was great was showing up at Crosby’s shop way before first light to then head to the Fairplex in Pomona. Once we were there, Crosby and Jay and I would start walking the swap meet where I’d say “Oooh”, or “Check that out!” at least 300 times and the two of them would tell me I was crazy at least half of those times. Of course we’d drink some beers, walk the cars for sale, and then usually leave around noon for some lunch. It’s a great way to spend a Sunday morning in SoCal.
There are a lot of killer parts, and an insane number of cars and trucks for sale and it’s just one of those places that every hot rodder or racer should visit at some point. It still surprises me how many folks haven’t been, so if that is you then make sure you get there in 2022 so you can see what we’re talking about.
Thankfully Wes was on hand to shoot a bunch of the cars and trucks yesterday so you can see them all right here. Well, the first gallery of them. We’ve got a bunch to share, so keep checking in as we’ll run them all week long.
