(Photos by Darr Hawthorne) – For nearly forty years, West Coast Customs Cruizin’ Nationals holds a show at Santa Maria Fairpark on California’s Central Coast. Farming, hot rodding, customizing and racing are traditions in this car town – dating back to the early 50’s when one of the first California drag strips was out on an old runway that is now Foster Road.
This huge show attracts hundreds of pre-1965 hot rods, lead sleds, cruisers, trucks and newly completed local customs to the packed fairgrounds. On Friday night the town closes off the main drag for a cruise that the residents of Santa Maria enthusiastically support.
There are so many awesome cars, we’ve broken them down into five galleries and here is our gallery of nothing but bitchen 50’s and 60’s hot rods! Video from the cruise is below as well!
